The Basics of Roulette

Roullete

Origins

Many sources attribute the invention of roulette to Blaise Pascal, a 17th-century French mathematician. Roulette originated as a variation of the game roly-poly, which was played on a spinning wheel marked with ‘even’ and ‘odd’ numbers.

Rules

In French roulette, the rule of the even money sections cannot be broken. This rule is specific to this version of the game and can be difficult to find in casinos. When a winning bet is placed outside the even money section, it is called ‘en prison’ and will be returned to the player in full on the next spin.

Types of bets

In the game of Roullete, there are different types of bets that you can make. Some of these bets will have different payouts. For example, you can place a bet on a single number or a series of numbers. You can also place a bet on sectors, neighbors, or finals, or even split a final. There are three main variations of the game, including American, European, and French versions. The French version is considered to be the most profitable.

Limits for inside bets and outside bets

When you play roulette, you’ll notice that inside and outside bet limits at Roullete are different. Inside bets have a lower maximum amount than outside bets, but you can still place a lot of money on them. You can also place multiple wagers to make up the required amount.

Odd or even bets

You can place odds bets by betting on the odd or even numbers in roulette. Odd numbers have a higher probability of winning and even numbers have a lower probability. You can also place an even money bet on a single number.

Special bets

When playing roulette, you have the opportunity to place special bets on various numbers. These bets vary depending on the type of roulette game you’re playing. The most common special bet is the “neighbors” bet. You’ll typically find this option on French and European tables.
